Spectrum of life

Wide Spectrum of Life that imitates the natural scenery of Yunnan Province introduces the diversity of creatures. Here you can understand the colorful life phenomenon and the interactive depend-on relation between the ecology and the species. At the same time you get to realize the importance of protecting the natural environment.

Diversity of creatures mainly includes three levels: genes diversity, species diversity and ecological diversity. The exhibition section is divided into two parts: rain forest part and stone forest part, covering a total area of 3000 square meters. Rain forest plants which have the lamination growth in the rain forest present the diversity of the species. In the stone forest, bat holes, amphibious and reptile animal corner, microcosm, insect garden and birds kingdom, etc embody the ecological diversity. And the forest exploratory search station unveils the genes diversity and reflects the latest achievement of the gene technology.

Earth Exploration

By comprehensive means of simulated scenery, interactive exhibits, specimens, movie and multimedia, the exhibition area of earth exploration shows that our earth is a "dynamic tectosphere" keeping moving all the time with its own rules of evolution. This area of up to 2200 square meters is divided into three parts, namely, the Magnetic Levitation Earth Hall, Travel for the Earth Exploration and Shanghai Physical Geography, mainly to introduce the location and movement of the earth in the universe, as well as material composition of the earth, structural formation of the earth, surface contours characteristics and the physical geography of Shanghai. With a main track of "bird's eye on the earth from the universe -- in-depth lithosphere exploration -- back to the earth surface to see the bright pearl-Shanghai", the exhibition theme of learn about the earth - the planet where we live is therefore demonstrated.

Light of Wisdom

So many rigid balls roll along the exhibit "Energy Shuttle", showing the transformation among various movements and conversion of energy. "The Glowing Ball" demonstrates the ionized state of gas. Play a melodious music just by pulling the chords of "Annular Laser Harp"... Nearly one hundred classical and interactive items are on display in this exhibition hall, showing the basic principles, regulations and interesting phenomenon of such subjects as mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology, etc. Let's experience pleasure through participation and come to realize science by our own hands. Moreover, here you can cultivate your practice ability, understand the scientific methods and ideals, and even the industrious discovering spirit of famous scientists. The collocation of the whole exhibition is based on such original idea "Observe natural phenomenon --Analyze classical phenomenon-- Realize natural regularity". It covers an area of 1,800M2, includes 3 sections: front section, central activity section and interactive exhibits section.

Cradle of Design

"Everybody could be a designer", the theme of "Cradle of Design". This is the smallest exhibition hall in area in SSTM, only 800M2. The exhibition consists of three divisions: Design Manufacture Area, Visitor Designing Area and Masterpieces of Design Area. It mainly concludes following exhibits: Gift Sculpturing Station, 3-D Head Portrait Scanning and Making, Flexible Assembling Line, Card Designing Station, MTV Workshop, CAD Classroom, Design Corridor, etc. By taking part into such interesting practice, you will feel the enchantment of CAD and CAM.

Children's Rainbow Land

Children's Rainbow Land is filled with fairy atmosphere, lovely lives, magic science and colorful arts!  The beautiful rainbow path will lead the children to Science Lab, Magic Forest, Soft Grassland,  Animal Park, City of Light and Shadow, Magic Theater and Rainbow House to enjoy science.
